J•WALKERS+
At 8am, we kickstarted the day with over 100 enthusiastic J•WALKERS+ participants, starting our morning on the right foot and walking our way to better health.
Starting at Westgate, our walkers embarked on a sheltered route, enjoying some window shopping opportunities along the way while passing by NTFGH, IMM Mall, and Perennial Business City. Take a peek at the route we took!
Joining the lively participants were our CEO, A/Prof Dan Yock Young, our COO, Mr Ng Kian Swan, corporate partners from Singapore Science Centre, Perennial Business City and colleagues from Community Relations, Communications, and Physiotherapy. Together, they led the walk and bonded with the residents along the way.
After our mini achievement of clocking 2,500 steps, we were all set to celebrate the spirit of giving with various engaging activities held on campus.
SHOP FOR GOOD
There were also booths on campus where visitors could shop for a good cause.
Rock Painting

Meet Mr Ang, a remarkable individual—a rock painter, cancer survivor, and artist with a disability. He brought his unique hand-painted rocks to our event, offering on-the-spot commissioned rock painting for all attendees.
Fresh Bakes

Everyone had the opportunity to purchase freshly baked muffins, biscuits, and cookies from Dignity Mama. These delectable treats were skillfully crafted by talented young adults with special needs, offering a delicious way to support their cause.
Handmade crafts

Bouquets and hand-crafted accessories brought to you by Mustard Tree, a social enterprise that empowers artisans with special needs through mentorship, skill development and retail support.
Organic Vegetables

The organic vegetables from Casa Radha were a hit—they sold out within hours! Your support ensures that victims of domestic abuse have the essentials they need in shelters.
Crochet coasters & bags

Crochet coasters and bags crafted by seniors from Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre (Yuhua). A big shoutout to our incredible donors for providing colourful yarns, fueling the creativity of our seniors and supporting their self-care journey. Your contributions not only sustain their craft activities but also help fund the Loving Heart Mental Wellness Programme.
Other charity partners operating in the west, such as Blossom World Society and Singapore Cancer Society, also took the opportunity to raise funds and awareness about their programmes to staff and visitors.
DONATIONS
Staff were encouraged and welcomed to donate food items, milk powder, and diapers to support Loving Heart Multi-Services Centre (Jurong). Thanks to the generous contributions from our staff, including those from Nursing, Operations, Administration, and Allied Health departments, we successfully reached our goal of assisting more than 200 low-income families in Jurong.

In addition, a total of over 10kg of pre-loved apparel was collected to aid 7 Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS) thrift shops. These donations will help sustain training and employment opportunities for individuals recovering from mental health conditions.

CONCERT
Bringing joy and creativity to Jurong Community Hospital, the JurongHealth Campus Arts&Health monthly concert is a highlight of our Music-on-the-Move programme. This initiative aims to infuse diverse art forms and activities into the hospital environment, uplifting the spirits of our patients.
This month, we teamed up with Rulang Primary School to create a special Mother's Day celebration titled "Love & Gratitude". Together, we brought arts and crafts activities and a heartwarming concert to our patients.

51 students from various CCA engaged with 27 patients in a range of activities and performances:
-
Arts Club – Design-a-Fan activity where patients had the opportunity to draw, color, and decorate fans with guidance from the students, generously provided with materials by Rulang Primary School.
-
A beautiful Chinese orchestra performance with a 3-piece set titled 大鱼 (Big Fish), drawn from the soundtrack of the Chinese animated film ‘Big Fish & Begonia’, evoking feelings of love, faith, and sacrifice.
-
A Chinese dance titled "Butterflies Rhythm", captivated onlookers with its depiction of fluttering butterflies, accompanied by a mesmerizing rhythm that seemed to float through the air.
-
An energetic and dynamic International dance performance titled "Matilda" brought the spirit of Broadway to life, filling the room with excitement and joy.
These wonderful collaborations between our hospital and Rulang Primary School not only bring happiness to our patients but also foster a sense of community and connection that enriches us all.
ZUMBA
To wrap up the day on a high note, our staff and neighbours came together for highly-energised Zumba session! It was a fantastic way to get everyone moving and grooving, enjoying a full-body workout while having a blast!

FOJHC Volunteer Fair 2024
Community Relations organised its first Friends of JurongHealth Campus Volunteer Fair 2024, extending an open invitation for individuals to GIVE TIME by volunteering with us. The aim was simple: to connect passionate individuals with meaningful opportunities to support our hospital's various volunteer programmes. It was an incredible chance for everyone to mingle with our dedicated volunteers and gain insights into the impactful work they do.
Throughout the fair, our volunteers shared valuable information and personal experiences at their respective program booths, helping participants find the perfect fit. Additionally, our staff led engaging volunteer orientations, offering insights into hospital policies and guidelines. The highlight of the event? A volunteer-led hospital tour, offering participants a firsthand glimpse into the clinics, wards, and overall hospital ground where they'll make a difference alongside our staff and patients.

The response was phenomenal, with 147 eager participants joining us at the volunteer fair, ready to embark on their volunteering journey with us.
Let's remember to be kind to everyone, every day. Quoting Mark Twain: “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
