Initiated in June 2023, the “Coffee with a Cop” programme by the Singapore Police Force aims to enhance public engagement and foster open conversations on various topics. Our colleagues from the Security department successfully introduced “Coffee with a Cop” to our campus -  making us the first hospital in Singapore to embrace this initiative!

On 8 December, our friendly police officers from Jurong East Neighbourhood Police Centre were invited to Learning Centre at Tower A for a casual coffee session with our staff from 3pm to 5pm. It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect, share concerns, and seek advice on work or personal matters in a warm and relaxed setting.

Approximately 35 staff members from various departments attended the event, making it a delightful chat-filled afternoon with our welcoming police officers. It truly showcased the spirit of community and collaboration!

Check out what are some of the topics being raised during the session!

To seek advice or share concerns on work or personal matters where police can assist, e.g. how to lodge police report, managing abusive patients etc

(These may be concerns where staff chose to keep it private from their family or RO, but are seeking advice on alternative resolutions).

Sharing of criminal trends and what to look out for (e.g. criminal scams)

Clarifying any misconceptions our staff might have about the work of the police force

If you missed this opportunity, rest assured that our colleagues from Security have plans to continue this initiative in 2024!
