Music-on-the-Move Concert for JCH Patients

Last Friday, 25 patients were treated to a 45mins art and music engagement session at JCH Community Hub, as part of our monthly Music-on-the-Move concert dedicated to our patients. With the help of our passionate Friends of JurongHealth Campus volunteers, our patients had lots of fun in creating their very own Shrink Plastic Charms using polyshrink plastics. They also became exploratory scientists and experimented with plastic template in different colours and shrinking them into adorable charms.

Following the fun-filled art activity, we went into a Spring-themed sing-along party, led by 2 groups of local musicians - JamiJam and The ETC 闲杂人等! Our patients were serenaded by the talented musicians who played familiar and upbeat tracks like 花心 (hua xin), 浪花一朵朵 (lang hua yi duo duo), Like a Rose, That's What Friends Are For, Beautiful Sunday, 明天会更好 (ming tian hui gen hao) and many more!

It was truly heartwarming to see our patients enjoying themselves and singing along with our in-house musicians, especially when they were all smiles as they left for the night. A patient from Ward C10 shared "I am really happy to be out of the ward for an hour of live entertainment; it helped me feel better and more relaxed!".

Music-on-the-Move is an initiative of JurongHealth Campus Arts&Health programme, where we hope to create a healing environment for our patients, caregivers, visitors, as well as our staff (Yes, you too!) through arts and music. We welcome staff to join us at our monthly concert or activity for patients, either as an audience or as an extra pair of helping hands! Do contact Community Relations Department at jhcampus_artsandhealth@nuhs.edu.sg to find out how you can be a part of this programme!

Special thanks to Friends of JurongHealth Campus volunteers, JCH Nursing, Group Hospitality and General Services for supporting our programme, as always!

The programme is organised by Community Relations Department, supported by JurongHealth Fund.
