JHConnext August 2026: Putting People First, Transforming Together
People, innovation, safety and a surprise reveal — the August edition of JHConnext brought colleagues together for updates on how we are improving care, work and the staff experience across JHC.
A/Prof Dan Yock Young, Chief Executive Officer, shared how staff feedback from Coffee Chats, JHConnext sessions, surveys and everyday conversations continues to shape improvements across JurongHealth Campus. These include wellbeing programmes and enhancements to the work environment, such as wellbeing spaces, lounge and rest areas, a refreshed gym and dance studio, and new staff rest areas.
He also highlighted the teams behind JHC’s achievements, including recent recognition at the Festival of Innovation Awards, National Healthcare Innovation & Productivity Medals and Public Sector Transformation Award.
Remy New, Head of Audiology, showcased JHC’s Automated Audiometry Service, which improves access to hearing diagnostics, shortens waiting times and supports the sustainability of hearing care services amid rising demand.
By automating hearing tests, audiologists can focus on rehabilitation, complex assessments and clinical decision-making — enabling more value-added work while improving the patient experience.

The session then turned to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), with Ng Bee Ling, Chief Operating Officer, introducing the WSH Awareness Day 2026 theme, TransformACTION: Break Habits. Reset Behaviour. Create a Safer Workplace.
The theme reminds us that workplace safety goes beyond awareness. It is about challenging unsafe practices, building safer habits and taking collective ownership of our safety and wellbeing.

The WSH conversation continued beyond the auditorium. Interactive stations in the foyer including "Move Smart, Work Safe, Stop The Stick!", "The Wellness Corner", "Fire Safety", "Digital Permit-To-Work" and the WSH Pledge photo wall, provided practical ways for staff to learn, participate and turn awareness into action.

And then came the surprise that had everyone talking.
The surprise reveal came just before the Q&A segment, when Celestine Lee, Head of Communications, unveiled JHC FURIENDS, with A/Prof Dan joining her for the special unboxing.
The Bunny is only the beginning.
Three more FURIENDS will be revealed at future JHConnext sessions.
