Ebola Virus Disease Drill Exercise
On 11 January, an 'Ebola Virus Disease Drill Exercise" was held on campus. The exercise was used to evaluate the readiness of our staff and their responses to a simulated patient with Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) detected in Ward 16S.
The exercise scenario involved an EVD suspect case that occurred at a General Ward (Ward 16S), and this was role-played by a staff member. Though the suspect case was initially managed by physicians in the General Ward, it was eventually transferred to the Isolation Ward for closer inspection.
The drill exercise was well executed by the respective teams that were involved, and the staff were well-prepared in managing the simulated EVD case as a whole. Kudos to our JHC staff for their great teamwork!
