Hand Hygiene Day 2025
JurongHealth Campus marked Hand Hygiene Day on 08 May 2025 with an engaging and educational event held at Tower A Auditorium and Foyer. Centred on the theme “It might be gloves, it's always hand hygiene” the event served as a timely reminder of the important role we all play in preventing infections.
From mid-morning, the Foyer came alive as staff explored a variety of interactive booths. The Infection Control Team emphasised the essential steps of hand hygiene 🤚🏻🧼 and the importance of cleaning shared patient-use items—simple habits that go a long way in creating safer care environments. The QII Team introduced the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle through a creative hands-on experience, reinforcing the value of continuous improvement and adaptive problem-solving. Partners from Shulke and ISS Facility Services Pte Ltd also helped staff reconnect with the '5 Moments of Hand Hygiene' and how they apply across patient care and daily support services.

Dr Tan Seow Yen, Senior Consultant from Changi General Hospital’s Department of Infectious Diseases, delivered a talk titled “From Hands to Lines: Protecting Patients with Every Touch”. She shared how even the smallest actions—like proper hand hygiene—can help prevent line-related infections. Dr Tan reinforced that such infections are preventable, and outlined practical steps healthcare teams can take to reduce risks and keep patients safe.
