Making a Difference: Healthy Home 2025
As the sun rose on 18 January 2025, over 220 of our healthcare staff volunteers gathered, energised and ready to make a difference at the 12th edition of JurongHealth Campus’ annual signature CSR event, Healthy Home. With warm smiles, a hearty breakfast 🍳☕, and words of encouragement from our CEO, A/Prof Dan Yock Young, the teams set off 🚩—not just to clean homes, but to bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging to residents in need.
This year, Healthy Home 2025 saw a record turnout of volunteers and the largest number of households supported to date. From Boon Lay to Choa Chu Kang, our dedicated teams rolled up their sleeves 🧤 and transformed 23 homes—decluttering, deep-cleaning 🪣🧼, and reorganising spaces to create safer and healthier living environments. But beyond scrubbing floors and tidying rooms, our healthcare volunteers also offered health education 📖, medication management 💊 tips, and falls prevention advice—leaving not just cleaner homes, but lasting peace of mind for residents.
For many volunteers, this experience was more than just a day of giving back—it was a reminder of the heart behind healthcare. Seeing the smiles of grateful residents and knowing their efforts made a real difference reinforced why they chose this calling in the first place.
One resident, Mr Wilson Heng, expressed his heartfelt gratitude, "This programme is truly a blessing. As a senior with knee pain, it’s difficult for me to clean my house thoroughly, especially in hard-to-reach places like high shelves or low corners. I’m deeply grateful for this thoughtful initiative that brings real support to seniors like me in Singapore."
