On 7 February 2026, more than 300 colleagues from nursing, allied health, clinical and administrative teams came together across JurongHealth Campus (JHC) and Alexandra Hospital (AH) with one shared purpose: to bring warmth, dignity, and safety to residents in our community.
Now in its 13th year, Healthy Home is JHC’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach programme. Since its launch in 2013, the initiative has focused on improving the living conditions of vulnerable residents, particularly frail elderly individuals living alone in neighbouring estates within the South West District. To date, nearly 2,500 individuals have benefitted from safer homes, hazard removal, and care support.

In 2026, Healthy Home reached a new milestone as AH and JHC joined hands for the first time, strengthening our collective impact beyond hospital walls. Guided by compassion and a strong sense of responsibility, staff volunteers stepped forward both as departments and as individuals — ready to scrub, shine, and serve. Through simple yet meaningful acts of kindness, our teams worked side by side to uplift homes and touch lives, showing that care extends far beyond the hospital and into the heart of the community.

Care That Goes Beyond the Checklist
Home Troopers weren’t just about cleaning, fixing, or completing tasks. They brought care, experience, and compassion to every home they visited. Many nurses took extra time to sit with residents, review their medications, explain their purposes, and share simple health tips — making residents feel more comfortable and empowered in managing their own care.

A memorable moment for us was when Senior Staff Nurses Lesley Marie and Zhou Zu Jin (NTFGH) spent time with 93-year-old Mr Chen Xian Ji, who lives alone. While organising his home, they took a moment to listen, chat, and simply be with him. This gently reminded us that the most meaningful aspect of care isn’t always on the checklist—sometimes it’s about taking the time to connect.โ
