Chasing Dreams! ☁️
I joined NTFGH as a Dietitian in 2023 after receiving a mid-term sponsorship from JHC while in university. Stepping into the clinical world has been both humbling and eye-opening – no two days in the wards are ever the same, with each bringing new insights and challenges.

Try to spot Shanice and Cacia!
I find it most fulfilling to see how dietary changes lead to tangible improvements in my patients’ lives, and even more so when they embrace taking ownership of their health.
Work feels even more fun when your teammate is also your colleague – Cacia works as a doctor at JCH, and after hours, we swap our scrubs for our training attire and head off to the field or gym. We both started playing softball in primary school, and what started as a fun after-school activity soon became a bigger dream: to represent Singapore.
Although we joined the national team in different years, we’ve since played in multiple international tournaments together.
In the lead-up to major competitions, we train up to 6 times a week, averaging 20 hours split between field sessions and strength work. Balancing a full-time job and a national-level sport often feels like we’re living 2 lives (and not getting enough sleep for either!), but the drive to grow, push our limits, and bring honour to our country keeps us going.

19th Asian Games @ Hangzhou
One of the highlights of our careers was competing at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2023. Our team made history with Singapore’s best showing at an Asian-level tournament – a milestone that reflected the countless hours of training and sacrifice we shared. But beyond the results, it was the feeling of pride and purpose, and being amongst the region’s finest athletes that made the experience unforgettable.
Nantou Women’s Softball Invitational
Right now, our team’s sights are set on our next major goal: the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December. Softball hasn’t been featured in every edition of the Games, with the last held in 2019, making this year’s tournament especially meaningful.

We’re training hard for a podium finish and every bit of support counts as we chase this milestone – so follow along our journey on Instagram @sgwomensoftball and cheer us on!
Softball has shown me what it truly means to chase a dream. Not just through big wins, but in the quiet discipline of showing up day after day, even when faced with setbacks. Just like how we encourage our patients to take small, consistent steps toward better health, and to keep going even when progress slows.

In everything we want to do, what matters most is starting and staying with it.
Because when consistent effort meets intention, even the smallest dreams can come true
