My Lifelong Journey with Tennis!🎾
Not many people know much about my life outside of work. At JHC, most people simply know me as Rachel, the friendly HR employee engagement person who joined the organisation in 2020.
But beyond the office, I have another identity: a lifelong tennis enthusiast.

Sport runs deep in my family. My father was a national football player, and both my brother and I inherited that same competitive spirit, which we channelled into tennis.
I picked up a racket at the age of seven, and it quickly became more than just a hobby. It became a passion!
As a child, I competed in Malaysia’s junior tennis circuit, winning several state-level competitions and proudly representing the country.
Even after school, tennis remained a big part of my life. I continued playing through university and later joined KPMG’s tennis team when I started working in Singapore.

Today, I still play twice a week and compete in the Women’s International Tennis Singapore (WITS) doubles league. Our team name? "Serves You Right" — a playful nod to the sport we love.
Tennis keeps me grounded, sharp, and connected to something I love deeply.
The best part? My passion has inspired my daughter, who is now one of Singapore’s top junior players and a member of the national team. Watching her grow, compete, and thrive is one of my proudest joys.
I hope to continue supporting her journey, both as a mentor and a mum. Our bond through tennis is something truly special.

Tennis has taught me so much: resilience in the face of setbacks, the constant pursuit of growth, and the value of teamwork and camaraderie. These lessons go far beyond the court and continue to shape how I live and lead.

Game face on. Eyes on the ball!

One of the most unforgettable moments in my life was bringing my dad, my mentor, to watch a Grand Slam in person — the Australian Open. Seeing the world’s best players live, with the person who first inspired me, was truly magical.
