On 27 January 2026, the Digital Think Tank Engagement Day brought colleagues and leaders together for a full day of learning, exchange and hands-on exploration, reinforcing JHC’s commitment to digital innovation.
EPIC Workshop

The day began with an Epic Workshop at the Learning Academy, where participants explored current and upcoming AI features in Epic, including ambient documentation, clinical decision support, predictive insights, and workflow automation.
Through show-and-tell demonstrations and hands-on activities, clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals gained practical insights into how AI can enhance workflows and patient care.
Main Programme at Auditorium
At 11:00 am, colleagues gathered at the Auditorium for the main programme, which opened with remarks by CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young. He highlighted the importance of using technology effectively to enhance workflows, improve patient experience and safety, and keep pace with the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
He emphasised that digital transformation is not just about adopting tools, but about enabling staff to work more efficiently, make better decisions, and deliver better care through meaningful, well-integrated use of technology.

Guest speaker Jacqueline Alexis Thng delivered an inspiring session, “Getting Ready for the Future,” highlighting how brand, leadership, and culture are essential drivers of transformation in today’s healthcare landscape. She noted that as AI advances, organisations must align their identity, leadership, and ways of working to fully leverage technology—and that AI alone cannot transform an organisation; it amplifies existing strengths and behaviours.
Jacqueline encouraged staff to see AI as a powerful enabler that can enhance decision-making, workflows, and patient care, and to proactively leverage digital tools for better outcomes. The segment concluded with an appreciation gift presented by COO Ng Bee Ling.
Sharing by Staff
Several staff members shared examples of how technology has been effectively applied to make workflows smoother and everyday processes easier.
Allen from the Corporate Infrastructure Office presented “Going Digital for Permit to Work (ePTW),” sharing the team’s journey in adopting automation through Forms.SG and Power Automate. What was once a paper-based process prone to missing signatures and incomplete records has been transformed into a single digital workflow, improving accuracy, accessibility, and overall efficiency.

Andrew Goh from Laboratory Medicine shared how the new ePTW process has made a tangible difference for his team. Clearer approvals and better record-keeping have reduced administrative burden, allowing staff to focus more on core work while making the overall process more reliable.

The DTT Data Analytics (DA) SWAT Team, presented by Zhang Zhongyun from the Group Information Technology Office, plays a key role in advancing JHC’s vision of a future-ready, AI-enabled digital hospital. By combining technical expertise with domain knowledge, the team delivers rapid prototyping within established governance frameworks. In 2025, the team completed five successful prototyping initiatives. Staff are encouraged to contribute ideas and collaborate with the DA SWAT Team on new projects.

The event concluded with a closing address by DTT co-chair Jan Lim, Assistant Chief Operating Officer, Operations. She encouraged staff to “level up” through the DTT Recognition Programme and highlighted the team’s commitment to equipping every staff member with AI tools while building a strong advanced AI and Digital Think Tank capability.
Looking ahead, Jan shared that DTT is moving forward with renewed purpose—“Dare to Transform”—reflecting JHC’s continued drive for innovation and digital excellence.

Digital Initiatives Booth
After the keynote and sharing, participants visited booths showcasing digital initiatives at the foyer. Senior leaders joined guided tours, underscoring leadership support for cross-functional collaboration and innovation.

Power Automate Workshop
A group of staff also participated in a Power Automate workshop, learning how simple, no-code automation can transform everyday work. The session demonstrated how repetitive tasks—such as approvals, notifications, and data updates—can be streamlined across familiar Microsoft 365 tools like Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
By reducing manual effort and errors, the workshop empowered participants to work smarter and focus on more meaningful, value-added tasks in their roles.

Microsoft Learn & Fun Workshop
In the afternoon, participants gathered at the Community Hub for the Microsoft Learn & Fun Workshop: Prompt Your Prosperity Bowl. Through interactive, Lunar New Year–themed challenges using M365 Copilot, teams collaborated to design creative concepts while learning simple prompting techniques that boost productivity and creativity.

The day concluded with a lohei session, appreciation and prize presentations, celebrating collective learning and shared progress towards a digitally enabled future.

Staff are encouraged to be catalysts for change by identifying gaps in their work areas and exploring how digital tools can bridge them, starting with opportunities to automate processes and improve daily workflows.
