Minister Ong Visits JHC:
A Closer Look at Healthcare Transformation
On 24 February 2026, we had the privilege of hosting Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health, Mr Ong Ye Kung, at our campus.

During the visit, we shared how our transformation efforts are strengthening patient care while optimising healthcare manpower. Minister Ong was briefed on initiatives that redesign workflows, improve efficiency and enable our teams to focus on what matters most — caring for patients.
Visiting the Acute Medical Unit (AMU)
One of the key highlights was our Acute Medical Unit (AMU), which manages patients admitted from the Emergency Department who require short-term observation and treatment of up to 72 hours. By consolidating care and streamlining processes, the AMU enhances patient flow, supports timely clinical decisions and reduces non-critical admissions.

Enhancing Perioperative Services
We also showcased improvements to our Perioperative Services inventory system. Through better tracking and streamlined processes, the enhanced system has reduced manual administrative tasks and improved operational efficiency.
These refinements allow nurses to spend less time on stock management and more time at the bedside — strengthening both productivity and patient-centred care.

The visit was a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate how innovations across JurongHealth Campus is improving patient outcomes while supporting our staff in sustainable ways. We remain committed to driving initiatives that enable high-quality, efficient care for the community we serve.
