NUHS Allied Health & Pharmacy Learning Festival 2026 💊⚕️
The NUHS Allied Health & Pharmacy Learning Festival 2026 brought together professionals across disciplines for an afternoon of learning, reflection, and inspiration, centred on growth and development within the Allied Health and Pharmacy community.
The festival opened with an address by Abdul Rashid Jailani, (Director, Allied Health, JCH) who spoke on "Transforming Healthcare Through People Development". His message underscored the importance of investing in people as the foundation for delivering quality care and shaping the future of healthcare.
He also highlighted NUHS’ continued investment in professional development, including structured learning pathways that support allied health professionals at different stages of their careers.

A highlight of the programme was the "Success Story Showcase: From Aspiration to Achievement", featuring Jeanette Wong (Senior Speech Therapist, NTFGH) and Jason Kwan (Head, Optometry / Senior Principal Optometrist, NTFGH).
Through their personal journeys, they shared candid reflections on the challenges they encountered, the support they received from mentors and colleagues, and the perseverance required to grow in their respective fields.
From navigating steep learning curves and moments of self-doubt to discovering their strengths over time, their stories offered a relatable and inspiring reminder that growth is often shaped through resilience, reflection, and continuous learning.

The panel conversation on “Growing My Future in Allied Health and Pharmacy” brought together professionals to share practical insights and advice. Among the panellists was Nigel Lim (Senior Pharmacist, NTFGH), who encouraged peers not to underestimate themselves and to embrace opportunities with confidence.
Reflecting on the challenges of his profession, he emphasised the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and simply taking the first step, as growth often begins with trying.

The festival concluded with a forward-looking message by Kimmy Liew (Group Chief, Pharmacist, NUHS), who reaffirmed NUHS’ commitment to supporting the growth and development of Allied Health and Pharmacy professionals. She emphasised that while each individual’s journey is unique, the organisation remains dedicated to creating an environment where staff can thrive.
She also expressed appreciation to the organising committee, highlighting their efforts with a light-hearted AI-generated slide of the team.

The event ended on a warm note with a tea reception, where conversations continued beyond the formal programme. More than just an afternoon of learning, it served as a meaningful reminder that growth is a shared journey shaped by the people who support us, the experiences that challenge us, and the courage to keep moving forward.
