Kindness@Work: Celebrating Singapore Kindness Month at JHC
What does kindness look like in action and how can small gestures create a big impact across our community?
At JHC, Good Neighbour Day (GND) brings together social service agencies in our neighbourhood, alongside caregivers, patients and staff, to spread kindness and foster meaningful connections.
In celebration of Singapore Kindness Month in May, colleagues across the campus truly embraced the spirit of Kindness@Work by transforming everyday moments into powerful acts of care, generosity and appreciation.
From 4 to 25 May, we witnessed an inspiring outpouring of compassion. Staff supported our needy patients through a Tupperware sale, raising close to $1,200, and contributed an additional $3,500 worth of groceries and non-perishable items for destitute elderly residents at SASCO Home. Many colleagues from administration, nursing, allied health and Group Facilities Management (Grp FM) also took time out of their busy schedules to donate blood at the Bloodbank at Westgate Tower.
Our inaugural Kind Koala Awards attracted close to 400 staff, who participated in the nomination exercise, recognising colleagues who embody our KOALA values: Kind words, Offering help, Appreciation, Listening, and Action with care.
Among them, we celebrate 50 outstanding Kind Koalas who exemplify these values and were awarded their very own Kind Koala plushie.
We also proudly recognised four exceptional colleagues who received five or more nominations and were presented with the Courtesy Campaign Singa Lion:
