Meet Our
Dermatologist!

Dr Ooi photo

Hi, I'm Dr Ooi! 👋

I joined NTFGH Dermatology as an Associate Consultant earlier this year.

What drew me to dermatology is the art of visual diagnosis — there's something deeply satisfying about being able to look at a patient's skin and arrive at a diagnosis. Beyond that, the breadth of procedures and minor surgeries keeps the work hands-on and varied, making every day in clinic genuinely engaging.

Let's bust this common dermatology myth!

Should I skip sunscreen to get enough vitamin D from the sun?

In reality, the amount of incidental sun exposure you get going about your daily life — walking to your car, stepping out for lunch — is more than sufficient for vitamin D synthesis for most people. Wearing sunscreen does not cause vitamin D deficiency. And for those who are genuinely deficient, a simple oral supplement is a far safer and more reliable solution than deliberately exposing unprotected skin to UV radiation, which remains the leading cause of skin cancer and premature ageing.

You ask, I'll answer!
