Our Nurses, Our Pride!

On 1 August 2024, the Nurses' Day Celebration at JurongHealth Campus was held at multiple locations within campus. This year’s theme, “Excelling with Grace, Innovating with Heart”, reflects our nurses' dedication to excellence by continuously innovating and enhancing patient care with compassion and grace

From the lively auditorium celebration featuring a surprise performance by senior leaders and nursing leaders, and the exciting Celebrity Impersonator Showdown, to the engaging live stations and activities at the Auditorium Foyer and Learning Centre, our first-ever satellite event at Kampung was brimming with delicious food and entertainment. Udders ice cream was also delivered to nurses in the Emergency Department, ICU, and Operating Theatre, making it a memorable and special day for our dedicated nurses.

Main celebration inside Auditorium

The auditorium buzzed with excitement as our nurses welcomed the emcee, Bern, who kicked off the event with a grand entrance!

Invited guests Mrs Dorothy Chan, Patron of NTFGH, Ms Pauline Koh, Chief Nursing Officer, Ministry of Health, and Prof Yeoh Khay Guan, NUHS Chief Executive joined the celebration too!

CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young kicked off the event with an inspiring speech dedicated to our nurses. Following his address, our Chief Nurse, Ms Ng Sow Chun, took centre stage to share her heartfelt message and acknowledged the hard work and commitment of our nursing team.

In celebration of JurongHealth Campus' 15th Anniversary, this year's Nurses' Day video takes a fun trip down memory lane, highlighting 15 years of nursing excellence. Aligned with this year’s theme, ‘Excelling with Grace, Innovating with Heart,’ it showcases the dedication and passion of 15 amazing nurses who are all about advancing patient care with a smile.

I.D.E.A Board Competition

The “I Develop Execute Achieve” Board, also known as the I.D.E.A Board, serves as a structured approach to sustain and continuously improve daily work processes for our nurses. This competition is a meaningful initiative by the Nursing Quality team to encourage nurses from different wards to utilise and showcase their I.D.E.A Boards.

2nd runner-up: Endoscopy Centre

1st runner-up: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Winner: Ward B10 (Subsidised)

Celebrity Impersonator Showdown

Our nurses got their groove on by transforming into their favourite celebrities and idol groups, dazzling the audience with iconic moves. They took the stage by storm, competing in a fun-filled performance showdown that brought their star power to life!

Up next, a surprise performance from our senior leaders and nursing leaders - our own JurongHealth Campus idol groups "DKS" and "Blue Jeans"!

Shoutout to A/Prof Dan Yock Young (CEO), Clinical A/Prof Low Shiong Wen (CMB), Adj Asst Prof Kelvin Koh (Medical Director, JCH) and our Nursing Leaders, Ms Clarice Wee, Ms Joanna Tan, Ms Arvinder Kaur, and Ms Tan Chai Eng for this surprise performance!

The Finale

We wrapped up the event with a lively "Ding Ding Dang Dang" TikTok Dance, getting everyone on their feet and moving to the rhythm. The energetic finale was the perfect way to end the celebration on a high note!

Yummy buffet lunch & treats!

Our nurses were treated to a mouthwatering spread of buffet lunch, prepared by our very own Chef Richard and his Food Service team. The spread featured an array of dishes, complemented by live stations offering crème brûlée cones, fresh coffee, butterscotch beer, and tacos. And to top it all off, we had a special sweet treat from our Chief Nurse: creamy, delicious soft-serve ice cream!

Everyone was treated to a mouthwatering spread of buffet lunch, prepared by our very own Chef and his Food Service team! The spread featured an array of dishes, complemented by live stations offering crème brûlée cones, fresh coffee, butterscotch beer, and tacos. And to top it all off, we had a special sweet treat from our Chief Nurse - creamy, delicious soft-serve ice cream!

We brought Nurses' Day closer to our nurses who couldn't make it to the main event at the Auditorium due to logistics or shift work. At Kampung, we offered scrumptious treats and specially curated activities. They enjoyed creative flower tea art, DIY fuzzy wire crafts, refreshing bubble tea, and tasty bento for lunch. Plus, everyone had a blast at our fun photo backdrop, capturing the day's memorable moments.
