It was a moment of pride, reflection and inspiration—an opportunity to celebrate our journey, affirm our shared culture, and look ahead at how we will continue shaping healthcare, together.

We were honoured to have Prof Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive, NUHS join us in person to show his support for this meaningful occasion.
Opening the townhall, CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young reflected on JHC’s extraordinary 10-year journey. Since opening our doors, JHC has cared for over 800,000 unique patients, emerging as one of Singapore’s busiest acute hospitals by ambulance load.

Driven by a spirit of innovation, we have charted many firsts—from enabling ICU patients to return home, integrating psychosocial care into the community, to achieving outstanding post-acute rehabilitation outcomes. We have led national initiatives in acute care and pandemic response, and through efforts like the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), we have shown that excellence, compassion and bold thinking can go hand-in-hand.
Hear it from our CEO!
"It’s been a fantastic 10 years. But more importantly, it’s the spirit we embody—a true ‘People’s Kampong Hospital’. Not ‘ulu’, but a place where we’re deeply rooted in the community, and proud of it."

“As we move into the next 10 years, our commitment is clear—to lead, create and build a great people health organisation. One that reflects our care, our courage, and our collective responsibility to bring hope and joy to those around us—our staff, patients, and community.”
Our integration into the NUHS cluster has only strengthened our foundation, allowing us to tap into an academic health system and accelerate public healthcare transformation.
Looking ahead, A/Prof Dan rallied the campus to dream bigger, move faster, and shape the future together.
A/Prof Dan emphasised that culture will be the key driver of our next chapter. He invited everyone to be co-creators of a JHC that is:
-
Safer: Delivering better, safer care for every patient
-
Kinder: Creating a warm, empathetic environment for every staff
-
Smarter: Leveraging AI and digital solutions to enhance operations to work less and produce more
-
Nimbler: Building agility to meet evolving healthcare needs

A Vision for the Future: Safer. Kinder. Smarter. Nimbler.
A highlight of the townhall was the official launch of “Because of You”, our People & Culture Transformation (PCT) campaign that aims to uplift staff experience and nurture a values-driven culture grounded in kindness, recognition, and growth.
A brand video celebrating our staff and their stories set the tone for the interactive segments that followed, including a live poll where colleagues shared their hopes and ideas for the future workplace.

Digital Think Tank

Staff from the Digital Think Tank showcase their innovative care transformation initiatives to Prof Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive of NUHS, as he offers his full support for JHC’s bold vision and plans for the next decade.

To cap off the event, the A/Prof Dan shared a surprise announcement: funding will be provided to help departments improve their workspaces and staff wellbeing, including fulfilling practical suggestions shared by staff—such as garment steamers for uniformed teams and Nintendo Switch console, which support patient therapy activities and also serve as a means for staff to unwind during after-hours.
These enhancements are not just perks—they reflect our belief that a positive and supportive work environment is vital to both staff wellbeing and the delivery of quality patient care.
