JHC LIVE: Supercharging🔌⚡Our People, Purpose and Progress
With energy and excitement, staff filled our Auditorium on 12 August 2025 for JHC LIVE — where we came together to share updates, honour achievements, and spark new initiatives.
Supercharging Wellbeing 😊
Opening the session, CEO A/Prof Dan Yock Young shared new initiatives to supercharge staff wellbeing. New initiatives include meeting pods for both solo and group use, and enhancements to staff rest areas — from nap chairs 💤 and resting nooks to improved lighting — creating more comfortable spaces to recharge.
He also announced the launch of the Workplace Enhancement Fund, which is now available for departments to improve their working environments.
OneNUHS Pulse Survey 2025 📄
A/Prof Dan encouraged colleagues to participate in the OneNUHS Pulse Survey 2025, which runs from 11 August to 5 September. The survey is a vital platform for staff to share views on engagement, wellbeing, and psychological safety — while tracking progress since the 2024 Employee Engagement Survey.
Celebrating Engagement Champions
The townhall also recognised the efforts of 32 Employee Engagement Champions across job families. These champions play an important role in sustaining staff engagement, supporting divisional activities, and promoting a stronger culture of connection 🫱🏻🫲🏻 across the campus.

Recognising Excellence
The session celebrated colleagues whose achievements have been recognised through awards 🏅🏆 this year, reflecting JHC’s commitment to healthcare excellence and innovation.
A highlight was #IamGoingHome – an ICU Compassionate Discharge initiative, presented by ANC Leong Shiaw Yi. Since 2022, the multidisciplinary ICU team has supported 35 families by enabling patients to spend their final moments at home, surrounded by love and dignity. This project exemplifies JHC’s aspiration to deliver care that is not only smarter, but also kinder and safer. 🌈

Good Initiatives for Smarter, Kinder Care
Staff also heard about promising initiatives to improve care delivery:
-
Smart Beds 🛏️ with powered wheels, weighing scales and fall-prevention alarms will be piloted in September 2025 before scaling up across NTFGH and JCH.
-
MyChart Bedside 📈 continues to expand, offering patients accessible self-help tools and educational content to enhance their care journey.

Fund-Raising Season @ JHC
Another highlight was the launch of Fund-Raising @ JurongHealth Campus, marking a decade since JHC’s move to Jurong. Staff were invited to take part in creative campaigns as “fun-raisers” and to contribute to a special art initiative, 🎨🖌️ Tapestry of a Decade. This collective artwork will capture JHC’s journey and hopes for the future, while raising support for the JurongHealth Fund.
A New Chapter in Learning 📖
The townhall also marked the official launch of the JurongHealth Academy. As JHC’s education arm, JurongHealth Academy aims to be a beacon of excellence in healthcare training and lifelong learning. The inaugural Learning Festival (11–15 August) inspired staff with international speakers, immersive workshops and site visits designed to spark innovation and collaboration.

Keeping the Conversation Going
The townhall closed with a Q&A segment, where staff raised queries on the use of the Workplace Enhancement Fund. A/Prof Dan encouraged colleagues to continue sharing their thoughts 💭 and ideas 💡with him directly, underscoring the importance of open dialogue 🗣️ and collective ownership in shaping JHC’s future.
Because of You 🫰🏻
The August edition of JHC LIVE closed with a unifying message: every improvement, achievement and initiative is possible Because of You — our staff 💓, whose dedication continues to supercharge ⚡ care, culture and innovation across JurongHealth Campus.
