MD Engagement 2026: Reflecting on Progress, Looking Ahead
Jurong Community Hospital (JCH) colleagues gathered on 09 March 2026 for this year’s MD Engagement, where Adj Asst Prof Kelvin Koh, Medical Director, JCH, shared reflections on our progress in 2025 and our priorities guiding our path forward. The session was an opportunity to appreciate how far we have come, and to re-energise ourselves as one team for the year ahead.

Recognition on the Rise
One of the uplifting highlights came from our growing culture of appreciation. The number of colleagues acknowledged for their contributions increased from 34 in 2024 to 60 in 2025. These recognitions came through JurongHealth Campus platforms, cluster awards and national-level awards. This growing visibility reflects not just good work being done across the clinical, operations, administrative and ancillary teams, but also the spirit of teamwork.
Strengthening Acute and Community Care Collaboration
With JCH receiving more complex transfers from NTFGH, our subacute and rehabilitative care capabilities continue to gain trust and confidence. More importantly, it points to closer acute and community care collaboration, enabling patients to experience smoother and more appropriate transitions in their care journey.

Community Hospital of the Future (CHoF) Model: Meaningful Impact and Future Potential
The session also touched on the positive impact of the Community Hospital of the Future (CHoF) pathways, InReach2CH and Clinic2CH. These efforts have shown statistically significant reductions in length of stay at both NTFGH and JCH, supporting earlier rehabilitation and improved patient flow.
The success so far points to exciting opportunities for further expansion as we continue shaping the community hospital of tomorrow.

Hand Hygiene Improvements
In care quality, hand hygiene compliance improved across multiple wards in CY2025, with all wards exceeding the 85 per cent target. Leading the way were Ward C5 and Ward C10, which emerged as the top two performers. This reflects the steady commitment of teams on the ground to maintaining safe care practices for our patients.
Pulse Survey and Patient Experience
The 2025 Pulse Survey also painted an encouraging picture, with strong levels of staff engagement, psychological safety and overall wellbeing reported across teams. On the patient front, the Patient Experience results showed improvements in areas such as therapist communication, rehabilitation activities and care transition planning. At the same time, areas such as communication clarity and rest during stay remain important focus areas as we continue working to enhance the care experience.

New JCH Leaders
The session also highlighted two new leaders: Phyllis Tan, Senior Nurse Manager, Nursing Administration and Low Inn Sze, Head, Speech Therapy. Their appointments mark new additions to the JCH leadership team as we continue strengthening our capabilities across disciplines.
The session ended with an emphasis on teamwork and continued collaboration across all disciplines to enhance patient care. Adj Asst Prof Kelvin also surprised colleagues with a special treat, a song he composed for JCH using Copilot, titled This is JCH, This is You. As a creative reflection of our shared work and journey, it brought a warm and uplifting finish to the session.
