Ops Day 2025 –
Back to School: Back to the 90s!

Ops Day 2025 brought colleagues from across the Operations Division together for a lively year-end gathering on 05 December 2025 at Tower A Foyer. A much-anticipated annual event, Ops Day is organised to  recognise, appreciate and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our Operations colleagues. This year’s theme, “Back to School 🏫: Back to the 90s 📟!”, set the tone for an afternoon filled with nostalgia, laughter and meaningful connection—creating space for colleagues to unwind, reconnect and celebrate shared achievements after a demanding year.

Old-school fun, fresh connections
The programme featured six interactive game booths inspired by classic childhood favourites. Beyond the fun and friendly competition, each booth reflected the creativity 🎨, teamwork and effort 💪🏻 of the Ops teams who brought them to life.

Game booth line-up by various Ops teams:

  • Marbles by Specialist Outpatient Clinics and Clinical Operations

  • Pick-up Sticks by Emergency Medicine and Bed Management Unit

  • Five Stones by Inpatient Operations

  • Paper Ball by JCH Operations

  • Rubber by Biomedical Engineering, Emergency Preparedness, Facilities Management, Food Service, General Services, and Security and Transport, Fire Safety.

  • Hopscotch by Medical Records Office

A special highlight was the questionnaire activity, which encouraged colleagues to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of different departments. This sparked conversations 🗣️ across teams, deepened mutual understanding, and reinforced how each team contributes to the broader Operations ecosystem.

She also expressed her appreciation 💓 to all colleagues and teams who contributed to making Ops Day 2025 a success, with special mention of the Inpatient Ops team, led by Jing Hong, for leading the organising efforts this year.

Her message focused on a key theme of the day: progress is driven by collective effort, resilience and collaboration.

Staff experience

With about 350 colleagues in attendance, Ops Day 2025 created plenty of cheerful moments 😊 and meaningful shared experiences for teams across the Operations Division.

For Food Service 🍛🥘 team in particular, the day held special significance. Often working behind the scenes to support campus events, Chef Richard and his team 👨🏻‍🍳👩🏽‍🍳🧑🏻‍🍳 were able to step away from their usual roles and enjoy the celebrations alongside colleagues—an opportunity to be recognised not just for what they do, but as part of the wider Ops family 💞.

Overall, Ops Day 2025 served as a timely reminder of the strength, dedication and spirit of our Ops colleagues. It was a fitting way to close the year—grounded in appreciation, strengthened by unity, and marked by pride in what we have achieved together.
