JHC Hosted Lithuania's Health Minister on an Insightful Facility Tour

On 21 March 2024, JHC warmly welcomed our foreign delegates from Lithunia for an interactive exchange visit, showcasing the hospital's resilience and adaptability in pandemic management.

Led by Chairman, Medical Board (CMB), Clinical Associate Professor Gerald Chua, supported by Chief Nurse Ms Ng Sow Chun and Assistant Director, Nursing, Ms Fauziah Jabil, Adj Assistant Professor Surinder Pada, Dr Jimmy Lee and Dr Tan Chee Keat, the visit commenced with a casual meet-and-greet session with Minister of Health of Lithuania, Mr Arūnas Dulkys and his dedicated team.

CMB shared Singapore's response to COVID-19 in February 2020, setting the stage for the day's discussion. Dr Surinder further shared the hospital's comprehensive response plans to COVID-19, highlighting the collaborative efforts undertaken to mitigate the crisis's impact.

The delegation started the visit with the Emergency Department (ED). Led by Senior Consultant Dr Jimmy Lee, they navigated through the ED, exchanging knowledge and learning more about our hospital's resource management strategies during crises. Whilst sharing our seamless care system, he highlighted the transformation of Community Hub and Mobility Park, repurposed ingeniously to combat the dynamic needs of the pandemic.

The tour delved deeper into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where Senior Consultant, Dr Tan Chee Keat took the delegation through the meticulous protocols implemented, notably in Pod 5, where we have effected various isolation and infection control measures.

Dr Surinder then led an enlightening session on the General Wards, emphasising the hospital's decentralised isolation rooms and adaptive facility management, pivotal in containing the spread of infectious diseases.

CMB rounded up the visit with an engaging Q&A session, where our foreign delegates had the opportunity to delve deeper into NTFGH's adaptive strategies and applaud the resilience exhibited.

The delegation expressed their deep admiration for NTFGH's unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence, and were truly inspired by the hospital's holistic approach to crisis management.
