“明智养生”中文课 让丰加北居民学习管理慢性病
(Hospital rolls out new preventive health programme in Chinese for Hong Kah North to better manage chronic diseases)
Conducted in Mandarin, Wise & Well 2.0 is a preventive health programme aimed at helping participants develop knowledge and skills in achieving healthy lifestyles and preventing chronic diseases. During the sessions, NTFGH’s trained facilitators will work with residents to reduce the risk of getting conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol levels.

New children’s specialist clinic opens in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital
The NUWoC Children’s Clinic @ NTFGH has seen more than 200 patients since it began operations on 20 February. It is the third public clinic in the west for infants, children and adolescents, following KTP-NUCMI at NUH, and NUH Children’s Urgent Care Clinic @ Bukit Panjang.

Abusive patients risk being discharged as case numbers grow
After Mr Ravichandran Gannapathy, Enrolled Nurse, NTFGH, was slapped by a patient’s caregiver, he was given medical attention and a police report was lodged. NTFGH provided CCTV footage as evidence and supported him throughout the investigation process. in November 2021, the caregiver pleaded guilty to one count of voluntarily causing hurt and was fined. Ms Ng Sow Chun, Chief Nurse, NTFGH shared with 8world that the hospital encourages healthcare workers to report abuse and harassment incidents to their supervisors, so that they can step in to handle the situation.
