(Surgery for the hearing impaired)

 

Adj A/Prof Somasundaram Subramaniam, Senior Consultant, Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, NTFGH, explained that the most appropriate age for cochlear implant surgery on babies is between the sixth month to one year. Without surgery, the infant's language skills would be affected.

(Mid-career switch to master nursing knowledge and pursue dream of helping elderly patients as a nurse)

 

Ms Veronica Chin, formerly an Endoscopy Technician at NTFGH, received HMI Institute’s Exemplary Contribution Award for her significant contributions as a healthcare worker during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, she will embark on the Career Conversion Programme to be trained as an Enrolled Nurse and plans to return to NTFGH after that.
