认识自己吃的药 有些药物不能一起吃 (Know what medicines you're taking: Some medicines can't be taken together)
Ms Isabelle Lim, Pharmacist, NTFGH, advised against taking expired medicines due to the potential degradation of chemical components, which could lead to reduced efficacy and harmful byproducts. She guided the proper storage of medications to preserve their shelf life and recommended keeping a record of medicines and appointment dates to ensure an adequate supply.

Ms Chen Xi, Senior Podiatrist, NTFGH, explained that ingrown nails often result from improperly trimmed nails that leave a splinter that can pierce the skin, potentially leading to paronychia or even more severe complications such as bacterial infection.

Ms Phoebe Hoh, Assistant Nurse Clinician, Ward C4, JCH, shared that delirium, dementia and depression are conditions that have some similar symptoms that can cause misconceptions. Delirium can occur abruptly over a matter of hours or days, and the symptoms tend to fluctuate throughout the day and for varying periods.

酒精使用障碍可否治疗?(Can alcohol use disorder be treated?)
In a series of patient education articles, NTFGH”s Senior Medical Social Worker Mr Chew Tee Kit shared that the most crucial step to kick alcohol addiction is to recognise that drinking is a problem. For people whose loved ones are struggling with alcohol use disorder, it should be noted that relapse is part of the recovery journey. It is important to continue supporting them and to know that there are always resources available.
